UV Teeth Whitening Method
Some dentists do what is known as UV teeth whitening. While this process also uses hydrogen peroxide it is used in a much higher concentration. Over-the-counter teeth whitening kits have a much less potent mixture so that the chance of mistakes and possible teeth or gum damage is lessened.
The UV method is expensive since it is done in the dentist chair but it is very fast with the actual procedure taking only about 20 minutes. There may have to be a second trip if your teeth are unusually hard to lighten. But if you are looking for the fastest results this may be a consideration. The UV teeth whitening method can realistically brighten your teeth four to five shades lighter.
Some side effects are still possible, such as sensitivity, but this is experienced by only a small percent of patients. And this should be over in 24 hours. This method is comparable to the white light teeth whitening method in many ways.
